Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of Cryptic Fox and its browser-based tools, articles, resources, and related content (together, the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. The service
Cryptic Fox provides educational cryptography, steganalysis, encryption, encoding, analysis, and computational-history tools. Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued without notice. The Site does not require an account and is not a hosted storage service.
Tools are designed to run in your browser where practical. You are responsible for confirming where a particular tool processes data, checking outputs, and keeping your own copies of anything you need.
2. Permitted and prohibited use
You may use the Site for lawful personal, educational, research, and professional purposes. You must not:
- Use the Site to violate law, privacy, intellectual-property rights, or the rights of another person.
- Submit or analyze material without the authorization required to possess or process it.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, bypass, or compromise the Site or its providers.
- Upload malware, credentials, private keys, or highly sensitive information to a third-party service through a link or form.
- Misrepresent Site output as a certified forensic, legal, security, or professional conclusion.
- Scrape, reproduce, or republish the Site in a way that creates unreasonable load or confusion about source or endorsement.
3. No professional advice
The Site is provided for education and experimentation. Outputs can be incomplete, incorrect, non-unique, or dependent on implementation and input choices. Cryptic Fox does not provide legal, financial, medical, cybersecurity incident-response, forensic, or other professional advice. Obtain qualified advice for decisions that matter.
4. Your content and responsibility
You retain responsibility for text, files, and other material you enter into a tool. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to use that material. You should not treat a browser interface as a secure vault. Back up important work and verify encryption, decryption, hashes, and analysis results independently before relying on them.
When you submit a message through the contact form, you authorize its transmission to the form-processing provider and its delivery to Cryptic Fox for the purpose of handling your request. The Privacy Policy explains that processing.
5. Intellectual property
Unless a page states otherwise, the Site's original text, code, design, branding, and media are owned by or used with permission by Cryptic Fox. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable right to access and use the Site for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create a competing service from Site material except as allowed by law or by written permission.
Third-party names, trademarks, libraries, articles, images, and links belong to their respective owners and remain subject to their terms and licenses.
6. Third-party services and links
The Site may link to or load services operated by third parties, including hosting and CDN providers, FormSubmit, Ko-fi, YouTube, libraries, educational resources, and affiliate partners. Those services have separate terms, privacy practices, availability, and security properties. A link is not a guarantee, sponsorship, or endorsement unless expressly stated. 7. Availability and disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or security. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cryptic Fox and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or business arising from or related to the Site or reliance on its output. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
9. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cryptic Fox and its operator from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person's rights.
10. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may change these Terms by posting a revised version with a new date. We may suspend or restrict access when necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or abuse prevention. Provisions that by their nature should continue, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity, will continue after use ends.
11. Governing law and contact
These Terms are intended to be interpreted under applicable law. Because the operator's legal identity and jurisdiction are not published on this static site, nothing here selects a governing law or forum where doing so would be prohibited or require additional notice.
